Surfside Condominium, June 24, 2021

The second building in the new edition is devoted to Surfside Condominium in Florida, a 12-story residential complex, part of which collapsed in the night of June 24, 2021. It is considered one of the three worst structural engineering failures in the U.S. history. Investigation uncovered several possible causes, including inadequate construction plans, saltwater corrosion of reinforced concrete, and sinking of land under the building.

The miniature measures 3.5” by 3.5” by 3” high. Every object is individually cast in metallic resin, hand-finished, and consecutively numbered. No more than 200 pieces will be made.
